This November, a group of our Urban City dancers from across East Grinstead and Crawley travelled to Birmingham for an unforgettable weekend of training, performing, and competing alongside some of the best dancers in the country. Throughout the event, our dancers took classes with an incredible line-up of educators and industry professionals, gaining inspiration, skills, and memories that will stay with them for years to come.
One of the major highlights of the weekend was the attendance of world-famous street dance supergroup Diversity. Not only did they teach workshops across the weekend which our dancers absolutely loved they also headlined the event with an outstanding performance. It was extra special for our Urban City family to watch former Urban City Dance teacher Steven Thompson, now a member of Diversity, take the stage with the group.
Seeing someone they know and admire perform at such a high level was truly inspiring for our students.
Our dancers also took to the competition floor, entering duos, solos, and team categories and they did us incredibly proud! A huge shoutout goes to Team DVSN, who placed 1st against some tough competition. Their result is a testament to their dedication, commitment, and months of hard work.
We had the most amazing time at the Super Weekender, and we already can’t wait to do it all again next year. A massive well done to every single dancer who represented Urban City you continue to make us proud every day!
